Recently, there has been good news from Chengdu sportsdom as the opening countdown of Jinqiang Cultural & Sports Centre Basketball Gymnasium known as Madison Square Garden in Chengdu has started. When put into use, Jinqiang Cultural & Sports Centre Basketball Gymnasium will be Sichuan’s first NBA-level professional basketball court, and serve as the home court of Sichuan Jinqiang Team to host CBA games. Meanwhile, it will host NBA China and other top international and domestic basketball events, entertainment shows, e-sports, animation games and other large-scale events.

Taking advantage of its leading technical strength and rich experience in smart venue construction, Unilumin Sports has actively participated in the construction of Jinqiang Cultural & Sports Centre Basketball Gymnasium. Unilumin provided over 1100 m2 of perimeter screen, cube screen, scoring board and outdoor advertising media screen as well as a sports one-stop solution for the venue, building a new benchmark for smart venues.
Located in Wenjiang District, Jinqiang Cultural & Sports Centre Basketball Gymnasium covers a land area about 5.67 hectares, and consists of a 15,000-seat ultra-large Class A stadium. The business center and its supporting facilities have a floor area of about 140,000m2, and the stadium and its supporting facilities have a floor area of about 60,000m2. It will be built into China’s first one-stop all-round sports complex project integrating culture, sports, tourism and business functions and serving as a large-scale stadium, a fitness center, an exposition center and a recreational park.
When put into use, Jinqiang Cultural & Sports Centre Basketball Gymnasium will support the CBA game system and work with Shanghai Mercedes Benz Arena and Beijing Cadillac Center in terms of professional games, cultural shows and brand IP to establish China’s ecosystem of three sports service complexes. It will help Chengdu develop a highland of sports and culture industry, and grow into a signature landmark of functional zones for the sports and culture industry in Chengdu and West China at large.

Based on the design concept of the whale breaking the waves, Jinqiang Cultural & Sports Centre Basketball Gymnasium features an architectural form simulating the blue whale breaking the waves and swimming hard in the logo of Jinqiang Basketball Club. On the exterior of the venue the exquisitely designed 300m2 outdoor advertising media screen as the eyes of the Blue Whale is eye-catching. In ordinary times, the screen will serve as an important carrier of information release, advertising, event rebroadcast of Jinqiang Cultural & Sports Centre Basketball Gymnasium, and help with its commercial development and high-quality operation.

The elements of Unilumin can be seen everywhere once you step into the venue. Right above the venue is a three-storey ultra-large bucket screen bucket screen bucket screen cube screen with an area of 250m2, a circular length of 40m and a height of 6.5m. Thanks to suspension installation, it can provide live HD images of the games for the audience, ensuring that all the audience can have a sweeping view of the exciting events.
The two-tier perimeter circular screen of about 500m2 encircles all the spectator seats. When the venue is put into operation, the screen will serve as an important interactive medium for sponsors’ advertising, information release and audience interaction, create an immersive atmosphere for the audience and athletes, and provide new impetus for the quality improvement of the events and the operation of the venue.
Furthermore, Unilumin Sports has meticulously built two scoring screens over 100m2 for the venue. Through real-time and accurate presentation of event timing and scoring, player information and event data, these screens will help the audience better engage in the games and enjoy the charm of sports events.
Unilumin Sports has provided a complete sports one-stop solution solution for the venue. On the basis of LED display products and integrated control system of Unilumin Sports, the solution adopts such technical means as signal control, image processing and content display, and combines video playback, live streaming and interaction systems. The integrated control of the cube screen, perimeter screen and scoring board as well as event live streaming system, intelligent light control system and sound-reinforcement system has been realized, enhancing the venue and event operation quality in a highly digital and intelligent manner.
